HOBOKEN WATERFRONT SOCCER CLASSIC

GREAT NEWS !!!
The City Council has approved an emergency resolution and appropriation
to move towards replacing the turf field at Frank Sinatra Park. This will expedite the process to replace the current turf
field. The city council's decision sent a message that above all getting the turf field replaced by a reputable company (FieldTurf) and bringing our kids back home to play in Hoboken on a safe and environmentally
sound field warrants expediting the process. This is a considerable accomplishment
made possible by Mayor David Roberts and the Hoboken City Council's commitment to its residents and the children of Hoboken. Mayor David Roberts should be commended on his ability
to understand the scope of the situation, provide resources in obtaining alternate field space for our kids, and involving
the soccer community in helping to come-up with the best solutions on replacing the turf field. Also to be commended are following people who gave up their time and resources to assure our kids best
interest are considered, Hoboken City Council members Theresa
Castellano, Nino Giacchi, Peter Cammarano, Dawn Zimmer, Elizabeth Mason, Peter Cunningham, Terry LaBruno, Ruben Ramos Jr.,
Michael Russo. Director of Environmental Services Joe
Peluso, Department of Human Service John Pope, Hoboken Parks Dept. Charlie
Rossi, Ed Miller, Leo Pellegrini, Kyra Barry, and the Hoboken soccer parents and players.
Thank you also to the town of Weehawken, Mayor Richard F.
Turner and the Weehawken Recreation Department for being so accommodating to our kids.
